The Animal Science Department at Woldia University College of Agriculture Sciences has been actively involved in teaching, research, and community service since 2013. Currently, the department offers an undergraduate program in Animal Science and postgraduate (MSc) programs in Animal Production, Animal Nutrition, and Animal Genetics and Breeding. The department has 21 active staff members, including 3 PhD holders, 2 promoted assistant professors, 14 lecturers, 2 technical assistants, and 4 PhD candidates pursuing their PhD studies. To support practical learning, a poultry farm is already operational, and dairy and livestock fattening facilities are in the process of being established. Additionally, equipment for Animal Nutrition and Animal Genetics and Breeding laboratories has been ordered and will be installed to enhance research, learning and community service.
